Biniam Bahiru Tufa

Born and raised in Adama, a small city outside of the capital of Addis Ababa, Biniam Bahiru Tufa was the first in his family to graduate from college. He earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Gondar, followed by a master’s degree in health supply chain management from Addis Ababa University.

Biniams’ career began as a hospital pharmacist and lead of the drug supply chain team. It then evolved into a role at the Ministry of Health as a Health Supply Chain Management expert allowing him to design and implement effective supply chain systems, focusing on humanitarian logistics management in public health emergencies.

In 2023, Biniam joined ReachAnother Foundation as the Health Supply Chain Director.  His role has been pivotal in improving medical supplies accessibility for underserved communities, reflecting his passion for enhancing healthcare delivery and positively impacting patients’ lives.

A strong advocate for gender equality, Biniam has been mentoring young women through the “Girls on The Move” program since 2022, fostering gender balance and empowerment within the supply chain sector.
