Little Boy Learning to Walk
This is the inspiring story of a courageous 6-year-old boy who has been bravely facing challenges with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Over the past several years, he has been receiving regular follow-up care at St. Peter Specialized Hospital, one of ReachAnother’s partner hospitals.
This month marked a significant milestone in his journey, as he had the opportunity to visit the newly formed multidisciplinary clinic for orthopedic and physiotherapy evaluation. With the proper physiotherapy and the support of a pediatric crutch, there is a real possibility that he will gain enough strength to walk independently. This life-changing development will also relieve the mother from carrying him and will have a positive impact on the whole family.
By coming together as a team, we aim to provide comprehensive care solutions to enhance the quality of life for children and their families. Multidisciplinary care is essential to the well-being of children born with neural tube defects.
