Dr. Mahder Deju

.Dr. Mahder Deju is a general practitioner who gained diverse medical experience after receiving her doctorate degree in 2015 and master’s degree in public health in 2019.

She has worked at the community and hospital levels in both rural and urban surroundings.

While working as the senior general practitioner in the pediatric neurosurgical ward at St Peter TB Hospital, she was directly involved with the ramifications of spina bifida and hydrocephalus on children and their families and was able to sharpen her knowledge on these conditions.

In 2023, Dr. Mahder joined the ReachAnother Foundation Ethiopia team as Program Director. She oversees the development of programs and training at our Center of Excellence partner hospitals. She believes that the aftercare of the children is equally, if not more, important than their surgical treatments.  

Mahder is also a volunteer caregiver at a local community NGO including Abune Zenamarkos and a government-owned orphanage
